What is 32 bit web hosting and 64 bit web hosting?

Have you ever heard about 32 bit and 64 bit web hosting? You might not, most of the hosting companies promise to their customers that their servers are equipped with high memory like 8 GB, 16 GB etc. and some companies in India claim that they provide unlimited hosting by having more RAM/Memory but they don’t mention more details about how this RAM or memory being utilized for the applications or websites hosted within the server. Here we discuss what are the advantages of 64 bit hosting over 32 bit web hosting.
32 bit systems or software supports up to 4 GB memory at any one given point of time. some of the recent Rich Internet Applications requires much more memory than this to complete the tasks. This may be one of the reason for chip making companies to introduce 64 bit processors.
The problem with most of the hosting companies to provide 64 bit hosting is, still most of the available software like control panels, plugins, tools today is 32 bit, but the processors are 64 bit.
