Why a website don’t get visitors even if it appears in search results?

WEFSJSXCUECT

Most of the SEO professionals and companies who hire them think, that they have done a good job when their website appears in top ten search results for desired keywords but the truth is, even if your website appears in top ten search results there is no guarantee that you get more visitors for your website, this is because of the user click through behavior and how user’s eye scan the search results page.

Golden Tirangle

According to the studies conducted by various UX statistical companies, the key location for the users eye on the Google search results page is like a triangle from the top left first result. This area is also referred as “Golden Triangle” in this area for most of the search queries you will see the results of top sponsored results, top organic results and for sometimes news results, shopping results, Google Places results for long tail keywords with location name in it.

Here is how the visibility reach for the top ten Google search results according to a survey conducted by Eye Tools:

Rank 1 – 100%
Rank 2 – 100%
Rank 3 – 100%
Rank 4 – 85%
Rank 5 – 60%
Rank 6 – 50%
Rank 7 – 50%
Rank 8 – 30%
Rank 9 – 30%
Rank 10 – 20%

If you observe the above rankings, top 3 positions have 100% click through rate (CTR) and for rank 3 and rank 6 the difference is almost 50%, so from this stats, you can understand that how users are accessing Google search results. If you see the image of Golden Triangle, you can observe that the Ads appearing on the right hand side having less impact, only the top one AD is getting more clicks, the difference between top sponsored ad and bottom is almost 90%, so it is better to be in first three places in sponsored listing as well to get more attention.

So instead of just being in top ten rankings, try to be in top three rankings for your desired keywords to achieve better results. For SEO Services contact us at +91-40-44254242 or mail to info@ibeesolutions.com

Automatically changing Page’s title into local language is considered as Cloaking?

Posted on  March 21, 2011  by  Betrand

Categories: Google, SEO
Tags: Cloaking, SEO

Cloaking is one of the search engine optimization (SEO) technique in which the content displayed to the user varies from the one showed to search engine or googlebot. Google uses geolocation, where it displays the target audience with the content related to their location that is assessed of the user based on the IP address of the user or through the cookies that have been stored.

It can be said that geolocation is not similar to cloaking if it does not provide special services to googlebot. Googlebot is Google software which crawls through various web documents to gather its own index for the search engine. For now, Googlebot only goes through US based IP address where the US visitor will search for the page and the content will be similar to that displayed for Googlebot.

Geolocation is fine until it only displays the content based on the physical location of the visitor, but it will be a matter of concern if the program has some coding where some special services are offered for Googlebot based on the user agent or IP address. If this is not the case then there is nothing to worry since geolocation will treat all the visitors with equal importance and show the same content to everyone without any discrimination.

Is article marketing suggestible as an SEO Strategy?

Posted on  March 15, 2011  by  Betrand

The general method followed in article marketing is that a content writer will write an article with a link provided at the bottom of the article with the expectation that there are other people out there who will duplicate their original content of the article which will result in the flow of links to their website.

However, the first that has to be noticed when it comes to republishing these articles is that only the sites which are not of better quality will choose to do so. Even if there are some better sites opting to go with rewriting of the original content, the quality of rewritten article will be degraded since there will be a limit on the number of words to be used while writing the article. This restriction on the article content will force the duplicator to limit their innovativeness and only duplicate the existing content instead of writing the original content or even at times the anchor text might be copied.

When someone looks for best quality of the business for their website, they would prefer to go with unique content that has natural links and social media marketing rather than article marketing which includes the person to go in search of article banks which readily provide huge collection of articles which can be rewritten and used as per the choice of the person.

Considering the search engines choices and general public demands it might come into notice that people do not greatly choose to go with article marketing as one of the best SEO strategy.

What do you need to look for to include in your SEO strategy for this year 2011? This is the major question many of the SEO professionals are having nowadays due to regular algorithm updates from Google, In this year Google updated its algorithm 4 times in 2 months and one is a major update which is called Farmer Update. Farmer update dented the revenues for many of spam web sites like Ezine Articles, Article Base and mahalo, all these sites are engaged into user generated content for free and in return passing the link juice by allowing them to add two links in the article submitted into their directories. With these kind of new updates from Google some of the websites lost their ranking for many keywords.

Here is what you need to include in your SEO strategy in 2011:

  • Speed: Though this is very less impacting factor in search results but when you increase the speed of your website, visitors will stay more time on the website, reduce the bounce rate, more page views will actually add lot of value in ranking your website better.
  • Inner linking: Many people concentrate more on getting external links but ignore linking strategy inside the website, you need to make sure that prominence for the pages will come from adding links to pages within the website, for example if you have a website which sells iPhones, where ever iPhone appears in your website link it to one particular page which has descriptive content on iPhones.
  • CMS: Having a good Content Management System (CMS) like wordpress, drupal, Joomla or SharePoint will give you more control on your website, you can make the changes on the fly and when ever Google updates its algorithm.
  • Social Media Marketing: Engage your website visitors or customers by adding your website into Social Media sites like Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.
  • Optimization: Optimize your website with best practices like by having a good title, descriptive content and make sure you don’t have any page not found errors.

I guess i have explained enough for you to understand best SEO practices to be adopted in 2011. For SEO Services contact us at 91-40-44254242 or mail to info@ibeesolutions.com

SEO for Mobile Phones

Posted on  February 8, 2011  by  Betrand

It looks like world is going towards Mobile and Technology Giants like Google are started to follow it now. Google recently tweaked its bots crawling mechanism and User Interface for Mobile Phones search. Here is the sample look of a search results page on mobile search. Mobile search results are built for mobile devices and are different from “standard” desktop results.

Mobile-search-Page

Here in this article i will give some tips to improve your website ranking in Google Mobile Search results and information on how to add your website into Google Mobile search results.

First step is to check whether your website is appearing in the Google Mobile search results or not, if your website doesn’t show up even if you check it by typing site:www.yourwebsitename.com in search option. Here are some of the reasons why your website isn’t got indexed by Google Mobile bots.

  1. Google Mobile bot may not be able to find your website: Your website must be able to be crawled by Googlebots for indexing and including it into search results. If you just built a website, it doesn’t mean that your website will be indexed properly by Goolge Mobile and web robots. If you have Mobile based business or you want to target mobile users as well, create a Mobile Sitemap and submit to Google using webmaster tools. more information on creating Mobile Sitemap is available here or mail to info@ibeesolutions.com for assistance.
  2. Some Mobile Sites built only for Mobile Phones which will restrict access to all other media other than Mobile Phones, for those kind of sites which needs restrictive access but want to appear in Google Mobile Search Results here is the option, you can allow Google Mobile site crawler bot “Googlebot-Mobile” manually, however doing it manually is risky because Google may change its bot name anytime. Here is the exact code to add
    SetEnvIf User-Agent "Googlebot-Mobile" allow_ua
  3. You need to check whether Google bot can recognize your mobile site URLs or not. It doesn’t mean that your website pages indexed in web results are to be indexed in Mobile results also, Google won’t include the pages that are viewable on Mobile Phones. It is very simple to resolve this if you follow some of the guidelines while building your mobile site. Below is the code you need to insert into your Mobile site on top of its pages.

If you have different versions of website for both mobile and web, here is the most common problem for site admins who run both mobile and web versions of a site is that the mobile version of the site appears for users on a desktop computer Google search results, or that the desktop version of the site appears when someone accesses it on a mobile device. To avoid this here are the two options available:

  1. Redirect Mobile user to an appropriate version, identify the user/crawler and redirect them to the mobile version of the same page.
  2. Identify the user-agent and switch the content based on the agent, if you can’t configure this properly you site may be blacklisted by Google as possible Cloaking website.

Fundamental SEO Techniques

Learning SEO basic

The professional SEO experts can get some great results but they may not necessarily deliver the type of product that you are looking for. It is better for you to be in charge of the SEO arrangements for your website. That way you can regulate what goes in and hopefully what comes out. The process of learning about basic SEO is not so complicated that you would never harbor thoughts of doing it on your own. On the contrary there are many people that have been trained in this aspect of website maintenance and they have been pretty successful in their projects as a result of all this training. You should not sit back and leave the fate of your website to the gods when you could do some SEO to take it to the next level.

You might also like to think of the fact that the money that you spend on external SEO services may be used more effectively within the context of an overall investment strategy. If you have a young business there is no reason why you should spend money on things that you could do yourself. This is especially true given the different support mechanisms that are on the internet to help people that want to polish up their SEO skills. You should be part of the revolution and not just stand beside to wait for other signs to come your way.

The efforts that you put in when you are learning about SEO will be more than paid back when the traffic starts to increase on your website. Ideally one should be looking for organic SEO techniques. Even the search engines prefer that it is not blatantly clear that you are trying to manage the SEO processes by delivering different techniques. You should be working with diligence but also with care when it comes to SEO so that you are not trapped into the box of leaving the website largely unattended.

There are people that spend a lot of money on link buying in the hope that this will take them to the top of ranking. The advanced search engines such as Google will soon work out what you are trying to do. The consequences can be serious and you could even be banned from the search engine altogether. They would rather that you were getting links from the quality of your content.

It is very important to take note of the moves that are being made by your competitors if you are going to have an impact in the processes that you do. For example when they build links in a certain area then you need to build even better high quality links. That is how competitive SEO can become a learning experience. You learn about new methods through observing what other people in your area are doing. It is the ultimate test in your determination to overcome the challenges of the online market. The other alternative is to buy paid placement.

The Web Design to Have Great Search Engine Optimization

Posted on  June 29, 2010  by  Pavan Kumar

If you want lots of views on your page, you will need to make sure that it gets a lot of hits. If you want your page to experience a lot of web traffic, then you need to make sure that it is something people really want to see. The design of your website is essential to having it be something that sees heavy traffic flow. If you want readers to trust you, to keep coming back to you, and to share you with others, you need to have a layout and design that they can readily appreciate and feel secure with. Even if your content is great, no one is going to read it unless your layout is stellar. If it is outdated or if it is loud with neon colors and a lot of flash devices, people will leave immediately and you will lose a lot of viewers.

Seo Web Design

Seo Web Design

Create web pages that are visually pleasing and also focused. A page that is crazed with so many links and concepts and ideas and pictures will really turn off viewers and make them seek elsewhere for their information. You have keywords that are guiding readers through the pages, and so make sure that you devote just a page for each keyword, keeping the content and design focused. Furthermore, keep the design relevant to the content. If your business is professional and your ideas serious, or if you have something that you want to express in a serious way, then don’t use loud, jarring colors to get your point across. Instead, use colors that are suggestive of your professionalism and choose pictures and images that match, as well. Tacky flashing images and big, curly fonts will only make people think that you lack professionalism and that will be bad news for your website.

It really needs to be very reflective of what you are trying to get across. Feel free to use images that are relevant and give them captions that are placed in organized locations. And above all, be consistent! Be consistent with your font choice, with the colors you use, with the image size and width. You want the website to have a clean, professional feel, instead of one that is chaotic and somewhat unorganized.

The design is very important, because if a person chooses your website from a link or if they found it based on a keyword search, if the design is not good, no one will want to stay on your website for very long. In fact, they will be so turned off by the poor design, that they will not read anything you have written nor visit any of your links, because the entire thing will seem so unprofessional and unreliable. Even if you had great things to offer and say, sadly no one will ever know unless your design is good.

You can improve your business and increase the amount of visitors if you keep your website design professional and nice.

Most of you might haven’t heard this before, Geo Meta Tags are there since long time, they are used for Geographic identification for various media like Photographs, Websites, RSS feeds and videos. they consists of lattitudes, longitudes, distance, region and various factors related to those region.

Sample Geo Meta Tags:

The ignorance of Geo Meta Tags started with Google excluding the importance of these tags into their algorithm, this has been confirmed recently by their Technology head Matt Cutt in one his interview and also conveyed in web masters world forum but Bing search engine still follow these tags to identify the websites region and display the results, we never know how much importance bing will give to sort the search results based on Geographic location but can be tried to find the results. Still someone from yahoo has to respond whether they consider Geo Meta Tags in sorting their search results.

Optimizing Website Load Speed

Recently, Google released the news regarding the inclusion of website speed as one of the parameters for website search engine ranking. This means that websites that load up faster than others have the chance to rank higher than the other websites. Along with unique Meta titles and Meta descriptions, having a faster webpage load time can also help your website land on the top spot, which is supposed to be a good thing. However, according to the official Google blog, there is little to no changes in the ranking after implementing this new parameter.

Optimizing Load Speed

The addition of site speed as a parameter for search engine ranking is good. Unfortunately, not all bloggers and webmasters are aware of site optimization. This situation can lead them missing their site’s search engine ranking completely, which is not a good thing.

However, if you intend to keep your site’s ranking as high as possible without flunking this new parameter here are some things you can do to make your website load faster than the rest.

  • Convert multiple images into big image using CSS Sprites. Using CSS Sprites can help reduce the number of concurrent connections and it will make your site load up faster.
  • Reducing your image size is also a great way to increase your site speed. Huge images take awhile to lead. Smaller images load faster. If you keep your images small enough to see then your site will load faster that having gigantic images.
  • Your site speed can also increase if you sign up with a web hosting company that has a fast server. Web server plays a big role in your site speed. If your web hosting company has, a slow server the tendency is your site will load longer. However, if you signed up with a web hosting company that has a faster web server then your site will load up faster.
  • The cache system can also help your site speed. Cache system is a system that stores data for future use. Retrieving data from the cache is much faster since it is already stored.

Site speed may not affect search engine ranking greatly. However, if you keep your site speed faster than usual more people will come and visit your site, which increases your site’s popularity.
